treasure & bond…

it’s times like this when i get all giddy about being a “nordy.” i feel honored to be a part of such a great company that every day feels like family… and i’ve been excited to share this news for a while!

my colleagues and i found out about this project sometime last year when we got word that Paige {our ahhmazing head of Visual for the company, who i so luckily got to meet and hang out with when i opened the new Boston store in 2010} was asked by the Nordstrom Brothers to head up a new concept store in Manhattan. we were sad and ecstatic at the same time!! we got bits and pieces of information here and there, but have really seen it all come together these last few weeks. {checking our emails frequently for updates, insider information and photos/videos} the word on the street is that Anna Wintour {Vogue EIC} and her philanthropist friend Catie Marron called up Pete Nordstrom with an idea for a non-profit based store where all the proceeds would go to charity… and thus, the idea for Treasure & Bond arose. {we thought Treasure & Bond was a psuedo-name until another one was chosen, but it looks like it stuck… and i like it} a Nordstrom owned store, yet so very un-recognizeably Nordstrom… it will operate independently with 100% of the profits each month going to benefit two different children’s charities in the big apple. {wow!} it’s unlike anything people have seen before. Paige built it from the ground up… designing the store, building her already amazing relationships with vendors and designers, choosing the buy, etc. it was furnished and detailed as low cost as possible with various items/fixtures from other Nordstrom stores around the country. {ps: there are metal, multi-drawered, apothecary tables that we sent with love to nyc from our Southpark store right here in the queen city!} aaand i’ve heard that the uber chic, multi-mirrored dressing room upstairs was repurposed with wood and glass from an old Christmas display from another far-fetched Nordstrom store across the country… love it!

nestled in the heart of SoHo on West Broadway between Broome and Grand streets, the two-story, completely glass front building is filled with all things incredible. over 150 full-price brands… an impressive collection of clothes, {can i say rogan, vince and james perse to name a few} jewelry, {biules, giles & brother, and melissa joy manning} accessories, hand-milled hats by nyc natives, home décor, fragrances, gifts, artwork, handbags, stationery and books. The first floor is devoted to home, accessories, and books {plus the future home of a café, which will serve Stumptown coffee and baked goods), while the upper level is packed with clothes for men, women, and kids. Paige has explained that the only requirement for new items is “awesomeness.” “Whether its $18 or $1,800, it has to be awesome for what it is.” this is such a great opportunity {post the first Nordstrom Rack in Union Sq.} for the company to get to know the nyc customer… hopefully getting us ready for the first Manhattan Nordstrom store. {fingers crossed…}

see the french style?!

enjoy these fabulous up-close and personal interior shots… isn’t it just lovely?!

love.

ahh, gorgeous!

honestly, i’ve been secretly trying to plan a way for me to take a day trip to visit as soon as possible… right now a plane ticket is running me $603. {and the husband looked at me incredibly weird when i just asked him about it} so, let’s just say i’ll be visiting asap and wishing Paige and her new team the best via fb and twitter until i can see them in person! if you’re in the big city, be curious… and please SHOP! what a great way to stylishly help a great community project.
