merry merry christmas!

it’s been the most wonderful christmas. i finished up my shopping yesterday and prepped the house for a family party. we celebrated God’s incredible gift of Jesus with a candlelight service that was breathtaking and lively at the same time. {the snow machines, photobooth, hot chocolate & gingerbread cookies were over the top.} after we headed home to greet our guests! trader joes appetizers, puppy chow, my mother-in-law maggie’s lemon bars, champagne, my grandparents, and tons of candles along with a total of 12 people, one bunny and one puppy happily piled in our townhouse made it the christmas eve party of a lifetime. completely unforgettable. today gil and i slept in {finally} and stayed in our pj’s all day. we watched our favorite movies {christmas vacation, meet me in st. louis and the newest harry potter} opened gifts to each other and ate pillsbury orange rolls. {i’m still so excited over my new silverwear and julia child cookbook.} we napped and then napped some more. and lastly had dinner at my parents house. it was perfect. we are oh so blessed.

hoping you all had a wonderful christmas too.

christmas is coming quick! i’m trying to get a few more nifty gifts in for you last-minute shoppers!! here are a few of my favorite things that you don’t have to ship!

the go-to scent for any lady in your life: volcano, capri blue. i personally think it’s the best smell on the planet and the fact that anthropologie now offers it in this beautiful mercury glass jar is even more to die for. i always have at least 2 around the house. $28

i love calendars & planners. oh and i LOVE paper-source. thanks to them my wedding invitations were ahhmazing. they have a gorgeous selection of calendars with cavallini being one of my favorites. they’re classic, chic, & vintage-like. any friend of yours would love to have one to plan 2012. this paris calendar makes me want to book a flight asap. $21.95 {location: phillips place}

west elm has tons of great things going on and they know great gifts. i recently bought one of these precious glass shadow boxes for a friends 30th birthday. i turned it into a jewelry box full of cute trinkets with a monogramed gold bracelet pinned inside. they’re intriguing, lovely and the perfect place for curiosities. oh and did i mention you can also hang them up?! $24-79

nifty gifts to give 2.0:

have you started shopping yet?! we have, but i’m still feeling a little behind! i love shopping for friends & family for Christmas but no one likes to be stressed… i need to get back to my list and knock it out.

here’s another great nifty gift! it’s quite honestly one of my favorite things on the planet. you’ll want to add a few of these to the cart for yourself, BELIEVE ME.

may i present: LUSH. fresh handmade cosmetics. they make everything from “fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics.” they invent their products and fragrances. everything is vegetarian, often vegan… so you could pretty much eat it, but you should definitely bathe in it. oh and they’re from London baby… i had more fun in their Covent Garden store than i should have… actually i’m pretty sure i stopped in every London location we passed just to smell & smile.

my favorite things that you should GIVE as GIFTS this year & buy for yourself ;) are:

  • the bath bombs. {oh my word. enjoyed one two nights ago and my bathroom still smells amazing. they also fizz, sometimes explode with glitter & will make anyone oh so happy… they also have them for men.}
  • the sugar scrubs. real sugar. need i say more?
  • the hand & body creams. get away from those full of just scents and no sense!
  • and i haven’t tried them YET, but i’m most interested in their henna hair dyes. yes really.

okay, this is a short post because you need to get to shopping and i need to check out so my lush stuff ships asap!! be curious & enjoy lush, i know you will.
