living small: counter space…

i’ve been wondering what in the world to do with our bathroom counter… it’s a huge empty space & i’ve been at a loss for a while. it’s just another spot to keep clean with no purpose what-so-ever. so, in great living small fashion, i started thinking of ways to get some things out from under the cabinets & up on top of the counter. especially the things we use all the time like towels, toilet paper & whatnot. i had high hopes of this future empty cabinet space that could be used for something else!

gil & i headed to the depot this past friday. i always try to think of a few things i really need to help narrow my search. it’s easy to just find a million things you like, while having no plans for said items back at the homestead. {& these things are NOT good living small purchases!} i needed vintage metal locker baskets {which i found & will show off later} & something to get this bathroom counter project under control. of course, i finally found something under a pile of who-knows-what. i dug it out, fancied some options & decided it was perfect.

take a look & let me know what you think! so far, i’m pretty happy with it. it holds a lot of goodies, {lush bath bombs included} keeps the old open space full {so that we don’t pile clothes & other things that don’t belong here} & it also serves as a hand towel holder {which isn’t something we have in this bathroom.}

here’s to a new empty cabinet and hoping that you’re also finding new ways to save some space… be curious!

{oh and ps… pay no attention to the chartreuse. it will be minty green in no time!}
